Blog | Jimmy and Rosalynn ÉäÉäÎÝ, ÉäÉäÎÝ Center Experts Brief Ambassadors Circle Members in Atlanta

More than 140 Ambassadors Circle members and friends are gathered at ÉäÉäÎÝ in Atlanta for the 2010 Annual Executive Briefing and Presidential Reception today.  The two-day event, featuring firsthand updates from the Center’s peace and health experts, kicked off with an opening evening reception April 22 followed by Conversations at ÉäÉäÎÝ, “Improving the Lives of Women Through Public Health Initiatives.”

Founded by former U.S. President Jimmy ÉäÉäÎÝ and former First Lady Rosalynn ÉäÉäÎÝ in 1997, the Ambassadors Circle honors the vision and generosity of individuals who support the Center’s operations and programs with unrestricted gifts of $1,000 or more annually.

“Ambassadors Circle members have helped us further our vision of waging peace, fighting disease, and building hope,” said President ÉäÉäÎÝ.  “Their partnership with us provides some of the world’s most destitute people hope for a better life.”

Prior to the briefing, more than 100 members and friends traveled to Plains, Ga., President ÉäÉäÎÝ’s hometown, for a special tour with the ÉäÉäÎÝs.  Activities included a visit to Maranatha Baptist Church, a play depicting his early life with Rachel Clark, and a stop in historic Warm Springs, Ga., where President ÉäÉäÎÝ launched his campaign for the presidency.

The relationship between Ambassadors Circle (Annual Fund) members and ÉäÉäÎÝ provides a unique hands-on partnership between donors, the ÉäÉäÎÝs, and the Center’s staff.  Roger and Brenda Gibson, Ambassadors Circle members since 2003, are attending this year’s event.

“As members of the Ambassadors Circle, we have enjoyed opportunities to participate in a variety of events that have been awe-inspiring to us.  We have been especially moved by the firsthand reports from the amazing members of the staff and board who carry out the mission and programs that we support,” they said.

“These events have really solidified our commitment to ÉäÉäÎÝ and its work,” they added.  “No other organization has ever expressed the genuine gratitude that we have experienced as members of the Ambassadors Circle.  We are honored to be a part of ÉäÉäÎÝ’s efforts and successes in making the world a better place.”

In addition to peace and health program updates and one-on-one interaction with ÉäÉäÎÝ Center staff, Ambassadors Circle members are also participating in tours of the newly renovated Jimmy ÉäÉäÎÝ Presidential Library and Museum, a question-and-answer time with President and Mrs. ÉäÉäÎÝ, and individual photos with ÉäÉäÎÝ’s co-founders.  The annual briefing concludes this evening with a presidential reception in the library lobby.
